The first Drag Me To Hell had a fast-paced script combined with an evil spirit which made for a thrilling if not necessarily scary movie. The sequel to that movie, Drag me to Hell 2, has all of these things and then some. In this follow-up, the main character Christine Brown is back from the original film where she had been traumatized by an evil spirit called Mr. Lamont. In Drag Me To Hell 2, Christine is a newbie loan officer who is trying to make her way up in her company and wants nothing more than to get on her boss’ good side. There's a positive correlation between loan officers and evil spirits so Ms. Brown must face her fears in order to get the loan she wants. But there's more to this story than meets the eye. Christine has been cursed by an evil spirit from hell known as Mr. Lamont who was a former employee at a mortgage company before dying in a fiery car crash. The alternative reality of movie allows one to question the plausibility of these events, or simply just enjoy them for what they are, but it all has to do with being careful what you wish for when making deals with the devil. Christine’s friends are worried about her because they have seen the changes she has been going through. They even give her a book about the occult, but she ignores it. As Mr. Lamont keeps doing his best to make Christine’s life difficult, Christine is forced to make an important decision which affects everything else in her life. It is only at the end of this movie that things make sense and everything comes together like a jigsaw puzzle. At first glance this movie may not impress people who are expecting something like Drag Me To Hell, but by the end, it does become quite enjoyable for those who enjoy horror films which are based on revenge. The cast of Drag Me To Hell 2 is made up of familiar faces who have appeared in other horror movies. Rene Rivera, Andrew Fiscella, Alice Barrett, Fionna Shaw, and David Paymer are all well known in the world of horror films. The director of this movie is Declan O’Brien who also directed the first Drag Me To Hell. Sure to be popular with fans of the first film are references to Christine Brown’s past experience with Mr. Lamont. He is a familiar character from the first movie and it is great to see him once again as the villain. In one scene, Mr. Lamont offers Christine a job as a real estate agent as he has connections to the housing market as well as mortgage loans. In another scene, Christine visits her boss’ office and bears witness to a vase of flowers who have apparently been neglected by the other employee working there. This is a direct reference to Christine’s first visit to Mr. Lamont’s desk in Drag Me To Hell where she also bears witness to an assortment of neglected houseplants.
